5 THINGS SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO EVERY MORNING

We Can Do It! - Wikipedia

You can boost your productivity and your energy by doing what some of the most successful people in the world do every morning.

For most business professionals, the most limited resource available is “Time”. Simply put, there is never enough of it, and you can’t make more of it. What can do is make your hours more productive.

What I want to offer you here, is 5 simple things that will speed up your day, increase your productivity and help you to be more successful without adding hours to your work day.

GET UP AN HOUR EARLY

Starting your day an hour earlier, means your an hour ahead of the day at hand. You have a jump start that sets the tone for the day. It’s a simple thing that will help you accomplish your goals, and you’ll get to work in a better frame of mind. For some this will be a hard habit to embrace, but it’s worth the effort and will re-enforce your commitment to seize the day.

Even if you have to add an extra alarm clock, or have the wife pour a bucket of water on you. Give this a try for a full week. Once you see that your productivity has increased, and you have more time to relax and enjoy life, you’ll have the mind set needed to make this habit stick.

EXERCISE

It’s no secret, some would even call it a scientific fact that a simple 30 minutes of moderate morning exercise translates to an average of 2 hours additional productivity over the average 8 hour work day. Starting your day this way, will result in a noticeable gain in productivity every hour of your work day. What’s more, doing this early, before you start your day, means you do not get interrupted by long meetings, emergencies and other spoilers.

GOALS CHECK

There’s nothing more powerful than a 10 minute morning review of the goals for the day. It simple to make a short list of the 3 most important goals of the day, and put that list in your face. Tap it to the mirror, stick it to your briefcase handle, on your coffee cup, whatever it takes to make it impossible to miss from the start of your day until you complete each item. At the end of the day, if all you accomplished is these 3 important goals, you’ll be able to sleep tonight knowing you made progress.

MAKE A DON’T DO IT LIST

While most people tend to make a to do list, it’s even more important to list the 3 things you DO NOT want to do. For some it might be to NOT smoke today. For others, it may be to not say anything mean today. Or to not talk over your staff today. Whatever will make you a better person today, write down those 3 things, on the same paper with your goals. Then keep your eye on the prize.

MEDITATE

Take just 5 whole minutes, cross your legs, put your hands in a prayer form and chant “Om”. Just kidding, you don’t have to do this to meditate. What you must do, is relax and focus on visualizing your goals, and the things that will improve your life. No I am not talking about money and power. I’m talking about better health, about peace of mind, about improving relationships, and how your goals translate to a happier, more fulfilling life.

SUMMARY

Having embraced these 5 simple things in your morning, your ready to seize the day. Oh and you can forget that illy notion that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The fact is, all calories are the same, morning, noon, and night.

So it’s not important that you eat breakfast, it’s important what you eat, every meal of the day. Simply ask yourself, “Am I eating what taste good, or what make me more productive?” That said, never mix sugar and milk (cereal & milk) it make alcohol in your tummy, that will just slow you down.

Do think fresh fruit, and things that will give you energy.

Okay, now go seize the day.

FIRST FRIDAY IS A “GREEN” BUSINESS

First Friday Las Vegas, LLC is a “green” business! We not only strive to reduce our environmental impact at the festival each first Friday of the month, by reducing, reusing, and wisely managing water, energy, and materials consumed, but the First Friday crew also strives to reduce their environmental impact throughout the month making wise decisions in the First Friday office.

This is why we are so proud to be one of the first 56 local businesses selected to be in the Clean Energy Project (CEP)’s Buy Green List.

Clean Energy Project released its Buy Green List, Nevada’s first green consumer guide on Earth Day to a huge success. The list was covered on 8 News Now, and traffic to the CEP website was the highest it has been all year. CEP notes that this “mak[es] it clear that Southern Nevadans are hungry for the power to reward businesses that support policies and practices that benefit the environment and grow our economy!”

First Friday Las Vegas strives to lead in festivals becoming more environmental. We want to show that from office to outdoor festival, production companies can reduce their impact and educate their attendees thus inspiring other companies and festivals to do the same. Among our many green initiatives, First Friday is a styrofoam-free and flyer-free event, working with food trucks and vendors to find alternative and more sustainable ways to deliver delicious food and product and services information to our thousands of monthly attendees. First Friday also uses “clear stream” recycling, a proven method to get more people to be conscious of their waste during the festival. We also use solar trailers and solar lighting in numerous sectors of the festival footprint so we draw less from the grid, and provide cleaner energy to our vendors and guests.

Green Street at First Friday emphasizes First Friday’s green mission by showcasing what is green, healthy, and sustainable at all levels of community. It is a place where the environmentally minded can come together and share stories and resources while engaging the public with green awareness, activities, and fun. Common features cover food, health, renewable and alternative energy sources, and of course, eco-savvy artists. Follow Green Street Las Vegas on Facebook and Tweet #GreenStreetLV @FirstFridayLV.
